Background
CityUHK SafeConnect is a ten-month Learning Experience Enhancement Initiative funded by the University’s LEAD Scheme (Learning: Experience, Achieve, and Develop). It is student-led: one doctoral team lead, one undergraduate member, two co-ordinators and 10–15 trained student ambassadors, with the laboratory acting as adviser and Sham Shui Po Police District taking part.
What was delivered
- Ten-plus campus carnivals: five during the August orientation season, an interactive carnival in April, an AI experience booth in March, a paper maze in May and a phone-booth installation in September
- Ambassador recruitment and training, translating anti-scam knowledge into language peers can actually use
- Social media matrix and creator outreach, extending campus activity into online discussion
- Anti-scam poster design and short promotional films
What remains
The programme produced 336 assets — event run-downs, material templates, posters and footage — forming a campus playbook that the next student cohort can reuse directly.
Student-led with the laboratory as adviser; event footage and materials are available from the laboratory on request.
